Our History
The Dugout Bar started as a local business back in the 1950's. Located on the South East shores of White Bear Lake, Mn. We love bringing together local customers, new customers food, a wide selection of tap beers and drinks, as well as live sports and live music viewing in a welcoming atmosphere. As a family-owned business, we take pride in creating a community hub where locals and visitors alike can come together to enjoy great food and drinks while watching their favorite sports. Our passion for hospitality and love for our local area drives us to provide top-notch service to our customers.
Mahtomedi has a rich history starting as a place for folks from the city to come and rest on the beautiful shores of White Bear Lake to supporting and amusement park that at one time boasted the worlds largest roller coaster.
Many prominent gangsters called Mahtomedi home and there were several speakeasy's located in town. Some of those speakeasy's were converted to homes that stand to this day.
Notable gangsters that frequented the area Included The Ma Barker Gang, Pretty Boy Floyd, John Dillinger and rumor has it even Bonnie and Clyde knew of this out of the way hideaway
